A Blessing Sent From Heaven!

So on June 22, 2009 my sisters second little boy was born. Ty and I had a lot of fun going to see him and hold him, and watching my two year old nephew interact with him! We also had fun seeing my parents as they were in town for awhile! It was nice having my mom staying with us for a week! Nothing beats it like Mom's cooking! Anyhoo, here are a few "better late than never" pictures from the wonderful day!

I said I would never do it......just hear me out!!

Hello all! OK, I know what you all are thinking, "How dangerous!" Yes it is dangerous. And yes it is a motorcycle....but don't worry I will not be driving it....Ty will. ;o) I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about regrets. As Ty and I start talking about our future and a family I have began to think about things Ty or I may regret as we begin our lives. Ty has always wanted a motorcyle and I woke up one morning thinking that I would rather him have it now than when we have a family to support. That night we went out on a date to Trafalga, and we just happened to borrow his Brothers bike to ride the whole mile or so there. I realized how fun it was to just cruise (not speeding Mom!) and how he really did know what he was doing! ;o) I think we all question a persons ability of how they can handle a bike and Ty knew what he was doing! He has done it before and proved to be how responsible he can be with it. Anyhoo, when we got back to his Brothers place he told us how much he was selling the bikes he had for, and well it was our "If we don't do it now we'll never do it, and then we will regret it" thinking that brought this beauty of a bike home with us. Now for all the parents out there reading this that can't but help start talking to the computer screen about safety (like I'm there right now)....We do have rules; No freeway driving, helmets at all times, no speeding or "gunning" it, and when we do decide to start a family the bike goes! Ty and I will enjoy small weekend rides around town, and we are both really happy about it! So for all who read this! Phew, the secret is out!

Our First Official 4th of July Together

So this past weekend was a blast not to mention a whirlwind of no sleep, fireworks, big crowds, and lots of food. So we both had Friday the 3rd off of work which turned out to be really nice. We slept in and then headed into Provo to help our friend Eric and his family who were in charge of the Freedom Run. We showed up at Hogi Yogi to help register people for the run and hand out their packets. I couldn't believe how many people wanted to run these races! Ty has done this every year with his friend Eric for about the last 7 years. He volunteers his time and helps them get all set up for this run (which takes three days of usually no sleep). So now that I am pretty much "married" into Eric's family because Ty and him are like brothers, I had the opportunity to help out! Needless to say, after Hogi Yogi (and the free food and t-shirts we got), we went home grabbed the little pop up trailor and packed for an all nighter at Kiwanis Park to prepare for the race the next morning. When we got there it was crazy work all the way until 3:30AM when it started raining. We had to put things under the pavilion that we had already spent time setting out. Then we continued to work under the pavilion until everything was finished at 4:45AM. Ty and I went and fell asleep in the trailor for about 45 minutes until we were awaken by the loud crowds preparing for the race! So up and back to work we went. It was such a great experience to see all of the people out there running and some of them "doing the impossible".....It really humbled me to see how ambitious everyone was. Even little kids like 6 years old running a 5K! It was such a beautiful day and everyone was in great moods! After the race was all over around 10:30-11ish and we began the clean up! After packing up things we got home around 12:30PM where we showered and collapsed into bed until 6 PM.....then back over to Erics house to eat a wonderful dinner provided by Wingers (since we were all too tired to cook), and play with some firecrackers... Around 10:30PM we went up on his roof and watched the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire concert. It was cool to hear the songs by the Jonas Brothers without even having to buy a ticket! We had such a great holiday filled with friends and fireworks! I couldn't have asked for better! And now it's back to work, even with the "sleeplessness hangover" we have we are adjusting well....Happy Fourth everyone! Hope it was great for all of our friends and family! ;o)

Our Tiny dog with a Huge ambition....

OK, so these past weeks have been crazy! I thought I'd write about Izzy and her mischief first! We have a gate that keeps our dogs in our kitchen where the doggy door is when we are gone. Some of you have seen it before....its about 4 feet tall (or to put it in another perspective it is about 4 times bigger than the little 9 lb Izzy) Anyhoo, these past three days when I have come home Izzy is in the front room and our little dachshund is still in the kitchen behind the gate. Now Izzy has jumped the gate before (when I first got it), but it was only a few times and then she stopped. Now she is jumping the gate again. I have never been able to catch her or actually witness her doing this but from what you can see on the video, she makes it look pretty simple. Luckily she has been a good girl and hasn't ruined our house when she is out of her kennel for who knows how long.....not to mention poor Gracie who is probably terribly jealous! Anyway I was hoping this video would show her jumping it but she got to tired and I felt like I was teaching her it was OK to do it, so here is a good idea of our little "Olympic dog". I should enter her in a jumping contest...what do you think...????
