5 months....Wowzers

Alright y'all, I'm back!
I realize that I should probably start out with a huge explanation on why I haven't posted anything in 5 months, but honestly, no excuses, I didn't feel like it! I have been busy with work, being a mom to a growing baby, and spending time with my awesome family! And when I sit down and look at my blog and think about writing, I think to myself, "I don't want to write about what fun things we are doing, I would rather be out there doing new things!"

All in all, here I am again deciding to share some of the past months experiences with everyone! It's time to do some serious catch up. Starting with my biggest news!
KOHLBIN IS TURNING 1!!!!!
Thats right, one year ago at this time I was telling everyone, "I am sooo ready" when they were asking me how I felt! Ask me how I feel now.... I am so proud and sad at the same time. My little baby is going to officially be a toddler on the 26th and as much happiness, joy, and excitement that brings me I also wonder where this year has gone?! I feel like I closed my eyes and missed something! I am really looking forward to the years to come though, he has really grown up to have a great personality and funny attitude. I love him with everyhting I have and can't wait to celebrate such a milestone for him and our family!
Ok what's next, Ty has been extremely busy working and going to school. I couldn't be more proud to have a husband that is willing to work so hard for our family. Besides a full time job, 9 credits hours at UVU, being a leader in the Young Mens program in church, and doing his own business and side jobs, he is an amazing father and husband. Kohlbin adores him and at this moment I can't express my gratitude for his position in our family. He even surprised me at work the other day with flowers and choclates for no reason at all! Yes, Yes I am one lucky girl.
So about two weekends ago I had the opportunity to travel to St George with all the Millar girls and go to a card making/scrapbooking event. It was a blast! I am grateful to have such neat in-laws who share my favorite things in life (scrapbooking, kids, family, and of course their Brother/Son and my husband Tynan! ;o) ) Ok that was a stretch but it sounded funny in my head so I am leaving it! Anyhoo, I had fun and have over 15 hand crafted cards to show for it!
Let's see, what else, Christmas! It was so much fun! We went to my parents this year and took a four wheeler with us. I always look forward to spending Christmas time with my parents and participating in the traditions! We went and saw the cactus garden lights, put together a christmas puzzle, had chocolate fondue, made choclates for our stockings, and watched movies! I am so grateful for my parents and all they do for Ty and I. I can always count on them! Shannon and Clint and the boys came down the day after christmas and we took the four wheeler out! It was really fun to see my parents drive a four wheeler for the first time, and it was beautiful weather! Maybe I can talk them into getting a few some day! ;o) (hint hint) After returning back home and back into the work groove, Kohlbin had a minor surgery to clear his tear ducts in his eyes, Ty had some health issues(that turned out to be all fine) and Ty and my mom both had a birthday. What is next for us......March!
Here we are back at the beginning of this post, Kohlbins birthday! I think I did a fast catch up, let me know if I missed anything! Love you all! Promise to do better with posting things!
Happy St. Pattys day by the way! ;o)

Halloween 2010

So again, it has been a while! Lots of things to report and talk about! First things first. Kohlbin is now 7 months old! He is sitting up, yells "og" for dog every once in awhile to get Izzy's attention, sleeps all through the night, is able to put him self to sleep, hates being on his belly but tries to attempt to scoot on his butt to get things out of reach, loves being with Mom and Dad and went trick or treating for the first time! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. Kohlbin has so much personality and is very intense when figuring out new things. ;o) Ty and I are amazed at him everyday and can't believe we can love somebody so much! He is truly our life! ;o) Ok, so next thing on the list. Ty is working at precorp now and loves it! He has already received a promotion and raise and enjoys himself there. There is nothing like being treated well and feeling appreciated where you work at. I am with Kid On The Move and still love it! Kohlbin attends the daycare at my work and loves it. His teacher is Ms. Jane and he absolutely adores her. I can go see him whenever I want to and often take a few breaks to get my 'Kohlbin fix" in the middle of the day! I will be going to Baltimore for a work conference in the beginning of December and though I am excited, I will miss my boys an awful lot! Yesterday we went trick or treating down in Nephi, Utah with my Sisters family and my parents. It was tons of fun! Kohlbin was a peapod and played the part perfectly sitting in the wagon! He actually ended up falling asleep. He was warm and cozy and all that fun was just exhausting for him! Overall we are doing great, even though we have had a few car troubles, they are all worked out and we have even been able to completely pay one hospital bill from when Kohlbin was born! Happy Halloween everyone! Love you all!

Big day for a big boy (And a little more...)

OK, so Kohlbin finally did it! He rolled over from his tummy to his back this morning. And then this afternoon he was in such a good mood and was talking and playing with his toys on the floor and then, BAM, he rolled over from his back to his tummy! YAY! We are such proud parents! Who knew that such a little thing could be so exciting. Our little boy is getting so big so fast! Seems like yesterday he was only 6 lbs and was too small for everything! He is now in 3-6 months clothing and is starting to be mobile! We love hearing him talk and babble with us and enjoy his oatmeal cereal! He is over 15 lbs now and 25 inches long! Holy moly, we feel like he is already a young man, and we have years to go still!! On the other hand we are a really looking forward to spoiling him for Christmas this year! Baby's first Christmas is always exciting, and with him being 9 months old we are looking forward to lots of playing!
We just got back from our first camp out as a small family! Kohlbin did great! He slept with us int he tent and slept the whole night! Ty and I were cold the whole night so he didn't sleep well, and I didn't sleep worrying that Kohlbin was cold. But as always I packed better for the baby than for us so he was great wrapped up in two blankets and in his pajamas. Add ImageAdd Image
Ty recently got a new job offer and took it. We couldn't be happier that he was able to get out of his recent job (they treated him horribly and the business ran a little shady sometimes) and be able to move on! School starts back up on the 25th for him and he is taking a welding class and English class. As always he is very busy! He has done a great job providing for our family as we struggle to pay all the hospital bills and medical bills from the unplanned c-section!
I have been asked to be a trainer on a development topic at this years Early Head Start conference and I couldn't feel more honored. It's not everyday that I have the opportunity to train those that have more years of experience than me on a topic that I am so interested in. It will be an amazing experience for me.
Anyhoo, we are looking forward to the Demo Derby in Spanish Fork this year ( it's our tradition to go with Ty's family) and then downt o Vegas for Labor day, again in October when my grandparents come out and then for Christmas! We have a lot to look forward to and are very grateful for the love, help, and support from all of you!

OFFICIALLY A SOPHOMORE!!!

SO I am blogging today because I am so PROUD of my husband! He has made it through his freshman year and is now a sophomore! And he did it working full time (sometimes two jobs), during the wedding process, helping me through surgery, having a baby and helping me after that surgery, being a new daddy, and serving as a Young Men's leader in our ward! He is so AMAZING! I can't be more proud right now...(well probably when he becomes a junior I will be just as proud), but anyhoo I just wanted to share the exciting news with everyone! I love him and Kohlbin with everything I have and only pray that I give Tynan the support he needs to continue being amazing! LOVE YOU BABE!

Blessing Day!

So Kohlbin was blessed on May 30th at Ty's parents house with family and friends around! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful blessing! Thanks everyone for bringing food, it was all delicious and turned out perfect! We are so blessed to have Kohlbin in our lives and we are lucky to have you all around us to share in the memories! Love you all!

4th of July Craft!

With the lovely weather also comes the Fourth of July! My sister-in-law invited me over to make some fun cute crafts with a few others! We painted, pounded, sanded, and glued these really cute porch firecracker decorations together and it was great fun! I love how crafty everyone else is and that they invite me to participate in their great ideas! Love it!

New baby, New life

Hi everyone! Just a note to let you know that Kohlbin is here and is perfect! Once life settles down some I will post the whole story!!!!

06/06/10- UPDATE! OK so I know it has been two months, 1 week, and 2 days since the birth of our child....but who is counting! Anyhoo this time has passed by so quickly so I will try to update you on everything! TO begin with; It all started on March 23rd (the due date). We went in to see the doctor and found out I was still at a three with no signs of beginning labor soon. I was exhausted of working full time in this situation and sooo ready for our little man to come. SO we set the induction date for that Thursday the 25th! My parents were planning on being there on the night of the 24th so they would be here for the birth! That time came and went and next thing I knew we were walking into the hospital at 7:15 AM on March25th. We got checked in, I got changed and strapped up and we were ready to go! They gave me some cereal because I hadn't eaten and then they started the Pitocin. My parents and Sister came and spent the next 12 hours with us! It started out great..small contractions that got closer and closer together but still not a lot of pain. I was dilating about 1/2cm every four hours though so they increased the pitocin and I decided to get an epidural before the pain started to get worse. The epidural was surprising not that painful (I was terrified of this) and then I felt nothing. It was kind of scary to feel absolutely nothing from the waist down but also nice! About noon they called my Doctor to have her break my water, but she had an emergency c-section to do so I ended up waiting till 5pm. I was only a 4 when she got there and we were all sure that after she broke my water my labor would speed right up and we would be delivering a baby that night! Ty was a trooper...he didn't like to leave me so he kept himself busy in the room although he was very bored! He left to go eat once and I rested. And then as the pain got more uncomfortable (even with the epidural) Tynan did not want to leave so his good friend Matt Jimenez brought him a meal. Nurses kept coming in as the contractions got within seconds of each other and were at the highest level. Kohlbins heart rate kept dropping after each contraction and the Nurses would take me off the pitocin. Without the meds my contractions were far apart and not very strong so they kept putting me back on until Kohlbin got stressed and they take me off again hoping that I would continue contracting without the medication. His heart rate would continue to be inconsistent and so they kept having me switch sides. I switched sides(with the great help of my husband and nurses since I was completely numb and helpless) about 3 times. Finally at around 11:00pm I was a 5 1/2 and I had an internal contraction monitor, a monitor attached to Kohlbin, and a tube putting water back into my uterus. Poor Kohlbin kept stressing out and I was tired and exhausted. Not to mention poor Tynan was bored and tired too! The nurses called my Doctor who came in around midnight and talked to me about a c-section. As much as I was terrified about the surgery I was also terrified that Kohlbin would keep stressing out and get hurt. We went ahead with the c-section and they took me in at 12:15am. My parents came and gave me a hug and kiss, Ty suited up and the nurses had a hard time getting the monitor off of Kohlbins head. Finally all was said and done and I was in the operation room terrified and having a little bit of a break down! My doctors were talking about the NCAA games and I was trying not to think of the sharp instruments in their hands! When they opened me up Kohlbin was stuck on my pelvis and was posterior (head facing up=unlikely a vaginal birth) Ty stood up and watched as they scooped the baby out. They held him up and all I could think was "Finally", and "he fit in me!!!" He screamed right away and Ty followed him to the baby table. He had quite the cone head and bruises on his head from being stuck for 16 hours! Including two bruises on his left earlobe. Ty cried and told me he was perfect as I asked him "is he totally perfect, does he have all his fingers and toes!?" They held him up to my face and I remember feeling his cheek against mine and thinking how soft and warm he was. 6 lbs 12 oz and 19"long! Kohlbin James Millar was born at 12:21am on March 26th, 2010!
They stitched me up and took me to recovery room where I met my parents. Ty went to the nursery with the baby and my parents soon followed. It was finally my time to rest! I slept for about 45 minutes and then was ready to go to the mother and baby floor. I got up there and they wheeled in Kohlbin so I could hold him! He was beautiful! He was such a good baby..the nurses told me he was the quietest one in the whole nursery full of 23 babies! He was content and perfect! He had a bottle the first night so I could rest and then I was able to start breastfeeding later that morning. The rest was a whirlwind of friends and family, sleep, drugs, and food! (some of the best food I might add..cheesecake, roast, salads and milkshakes!) Here we were, a happy little family! I recovered quickly as my Doctor was surprised and let us go home Sunday afternoon. My parents stocked our fridge and scrubbed our house as they had to leave Sunday morning to get back to home to Vegas, and it was so nice to come home to! So that's it in a nutshell...haha! Sorry it is so long! I wanted to get everything down for Kohlbin to read one day!
Here we are two months later at 10 lbs 9.5 oz and 23 1/2" long! He was blessed on March 30th by Tynan and goes with me to work to attend the daycare there. He is happy and a good sleeper! He smiles and laughs at us now and loves to stand! We couldn't feel more blessed!

39 Weeks!

Hello all! So we have been waiting for little Kohlbin to make his arrival and even though I have been 75% effaced for three weeks and have been dilated to a three for a little over a week, he seems to be enjoying his time in the womb too much! I have had contractions on and off all day, although thank goodness he seems to let me sleep at night still. We were thinking he might be a little early with how fast I was moving along but alas we are at a hault. I am afraid contractions every four hours just won't do the trick! We go into the Doctor on Friday and will probably get a better idea of where I am and when he will be coming into this world! Anyhoo, just thought I would inform any of you that were interested! Happy St. Patty's Day!!!! Love you all!

New beginnings!

We had a great Christmas and New Years! I received a job offer from Kids on The Move Early Head Start that I could not pass up, and have been training since the 28th! I miss Tophams a lot, but at the same time, I am enjoying the calmer environment, better schedule, and (hopefully) the daycare they have there for Kohlbin when I go back! He is on a waiting list right now and I should find out in a few weeks whether or not he will be able to go there during the days! The Lord has blessed us in so many ways! Ty is now going to start working part time for his Dad and part time for his current employer to make a little more money and has also been looking into getting his sub-contractors license to try to start his business; TM2 (squared). Kohlbin has been doing well, still making me a little sick in the mornings every once in awhile, but kicking up a storm! We can't believe how fast this is going but at the same time we are so ready for Kohlbin to make his appearance and be here with us! We had the opportunity to go to the Vegas bowl to watch BYU play. It was fun, definitely freezing cold (this coming from a Ohioan very used to frigid temperatures). The wind was relentless in our faces and by the time you went to drink the hot chocolate it was, well, not hot anymore! But we ended up heading to TGI Fridays where we ate warm food and watched the last quarter from a nice booth. We had fun visiting my parents and hanging out with our friend Eric and his brother David. It was nice to be back to see our little dogs who were very angry with us for being gone for two nights! Thanks to Talon who came to stay with them and allow them to share a bed with him! ;o) Anyhoo, things are going great right now, (besides a few sicknesses) and we are happier then ever!~ Love you all!

30 Weeks along!
